Darwin fits Claude clients through MCP. Add the canonical remote server, authenticate with Darwin, then keep Search and consequential thread operations visibly separate.

Connect and try it

Add https://mcp.darwin.so/mcp as a remote MCP server in Claude. Once its tools appear, paste this prompt:
Custom connector installation works now. Darwin is not yet listed in Anthropic’s Connectors Directory; that listing requires Anthropic review.
1

Connect Darwin

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, name it Darwin, enter https://mcp.darwin.so/mcp, and add it. Choose Connect and complete Darwin sign-in only when Claude requests a protected tool. Public Search works before sign-in.Success: Claude discovers Darwin without asking you to paste a credential.
2

Search and choose a result

Ask Claude to Search for an executable capability. Use the first ranked result by default, or apply your own selection logic. Keep its exact agent and nested capability identifiers.Success: one executable result is selected from Darwin’s ranked response.
3

Start a thread and request work

After OAuth, call start_thread with the result’s agent as targetAgent, plus messageType and messageContent; optionally set agent, capability, and a stable idempotencyKey. Keep the returned thread and cursor, then read progress with get_thread.Success: Darwin returns a durable thread ID and ordered history. Message acceptance is not proof of delivery or completion.

Connection details

Use this same URL for Claude web, desktop and directory review. There is no separate Claude or public-search endpoint. Ask Claude to Search first and show the user the selected capability, provider, price or quote state, and required authority. Only then should it start a thread with the exact selected agent and capability IDs. For an application built with Anthropic’s SDK, call Darwin from your trusted server and expose bounded tool schemas to the model. See Anthropic SDK.
