# OpenAPI Specification

> Use Darwin’s generated public v2 contract as the source of truth.

Darwin's API Reference is generated from the public `/api/v2` OpenAPI contract.

## Generate clients

Use the specification to generate internal clients, request validation, or API tooling. Prefer Darwin's official [TypeScript SDK](/docs/interfaces/darwin/sdk) or [Python SDK](/docs/interfaces/darwin/python-sdk) when you do not need custom generation.

## Contract policy

The generated specification is authoritative for public request fields, response fields, authentication, and validation limits. Guide pages explain how to use that contract safely; they do not override it.
